Features and Performance
As is the case with most of the vacuum cleaners manufactured by Eureka, this model is equipped with a powerful motor that provides up to 12 amps of suction. The 8853AVZ is of an upright and bagless design with a an easy to empty dirt cup. You don't have to buy disposable bags.
The vacuum has a height adjustment feature that enables you to work on any either carpets or bare floors. The HEPA filtration technology promises you a home free of dust, pollen, dander and other microscopic allergens as it traps up to 99.99% of such allergens.
The 30 foot power cord helps you to clean up in and around the house without having to plug in the vacuum into another outlet. The 15' wide cleaning head means you can clean more carpet or floor area with fewer strokes. It has a great electrostatic duster that picks up dust like a magnet from hard to reach places.

Pet owners have nice things to say about the vacuum. The Power Paw attachment is wonderful to use and is as effective in picking up loose pet hair as is claimed. It is easy to clean up the vacuum and its filters after use. It has great suction power.
A very frequent complaint is that the vacuum gets clogged very easily. Users opine that the machine has to be opened up and cleaned very often, sometimes during a single cleaning session. Other users however feel that the cleaning is a small price to pay, considering the vacuum's great suction power. Users have also complained about the quality and the overall reliability of the attachments.
