Summary
Pet owners have nice things to say about the vacuum. The Power Paw attachment is wonderful to use and is as effective in picking up loose pet hair as is claimed. It is easy to clean up the vacuum and its filters after use. It has great suction power.
A very frequent complaint is that the vacuum gets clogged very easily. Users opine that the machine has to be opened up and cleaned very often, sometimes during a single cleaning session. Other users however feel that the cleaning is a small price to pay, considering the vacuum's great suction power. Users have also complained about the quality and the overall reliability of the attachments.
The majority of users are satisfied and complaints are few and far between.

Understanding all the Eureka Pet Owner Friendly Models:
Vacuum works great I have a German Shepherd and 3 cats and have no problems. The pet power paw could be designed beter to keep hair from jamming it up but that only happened when I tried it on my dog's bed. The vac is pretty heavy but my girlfriend carries it up the stairs with no problem. For the money you can't go wrong with this one.
This vaccuum sucks!
Review Date: April 18, 2010
Reviewer: C. Talbott,
This vaccuum sucks, and not in the way it's supposed to. I've had it for about 6 months. It makes me sick to think that I wasted so much money on this garbage, but I've finally gotten to the point where I have to replace it, because I'm just not using it anymore.
At first, it worked great, it was so powerful it felt like it was pulling me along. Well, that lasted about the first month. From there, it was all downhill. I have a small terrier mix, who doesn't shed all that much, but I am constantly pulling her clogged fur out of the tubing that leads to the collection canister. You'd think for a pet vac, they'd make it so pet fur doesn't get clogged so easily. I have never had to touch the filth inside the canister so much in my life. It's just gross.
Also, it has that little light on the front, and I can see when the machine is on, this plume of dust just being blown around; not sucked up. It's gotten to the point where some fur makes it it in, but the dust and small stuff just blows around. Plus, the thing stinks, so if I want to vaccuum before I have guests, I have to do it way ahead of time to allow the smell to dissapate.
Now, even though I've dilligently removed the clogs, I've cleaned the filters, I've touched more dirt and grossness that I ever wanted to, the vaccuum appears to be working but when I turn it off, a big pile of fuzz and dust falls out of it back on to the floor.
I replaced a Bissell cheapo model with this, it worked for 3 years before it died. It was less than a third the price. It didn't have all the bells and whistles, but at least it worked, at least it didn't stink, at least I didn't have to touch the dirt all the time. It's a case where a downgrade would be an upgrade.
Junk! Power Paw quits working!!
Review Date: April 10, 2010
Reviewer: A. Hutson,
Worked great at first, but after only a couple of months the "Power Paw" which is the reason I bought it, completley stopped working! The brushes stopped spinning and wouldn't pick up anything! I took it apart and all the working parts were full of hair from my cat. I cleaned it out the best I could but it still wouldn't work again. I called Eureka. They told me that "accessories" are not covered under the 1-year manufacturers warranty. As far as I am concerned it is part of the vacuum cleaner as a whole. They said they would send me a new power paw - at my expense! In short, the power paw is designed poorly and if that is the reason you are buying this, then save yourself the headache and the expense and buy another machine!
