You might be considering purchasing a Dyson Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner. Well, don't... not until you read our guide and see what others think of the Dyson DC 14 Bagless Upright.
It uses Root Cyclone technology which ensures powerful and continuous suction, for maximum cleaning efficiency.
It also features a 5/7 gallon dust bin, has a lifetime warranted HEPA filter, and is asthma friendly.
The wand and hose have a 17 feet reach, for cleaning stairs and other tall items, while the vacuum remains upright and stable.
The dust removing mechanism is easy to use, as a single press of the remote button at the top of the vacuum makes all the dust empty from the bottom.
To top it all off, the Dyson Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner also comes with a 5 year warranty.
Users are extremely pleased with how well the Dyson Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner takes care of their house, leaving every carpet and floor as clean as can be.
Build Quality
Dyson is well known for making some of the best and most durable vacuum around, and this reputation is what has drawn users into purchasing this cleaner. They are happy to report that they are not disappointed, and most units are running just as well as they were on the first day, after several years of use.
Weight
This is one of the things that bothers most users, as they complain that the vacuum is too heavy to be easily pushed around the house. A lot of force must be used to operate the vacuum properly, and as such, it is not suitable for children or elderly people.
Noise and Cleaning Power
The noise the vacuum makes is quite loud, but most users have gotten used to it, and say it is perfectly understandable once you see how powerful the vacuum really is. There have been reports of the vacuum lifting entire carpets or pillows, collecting every ounce of dust and dirt from them. Some users are worried that carpet fiber may be damaged, but there is nothing that can be done about it, at the moment.
Conclusion
The Dyson Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner is considered an excellent vacuum cleaner, which has tremendous suction power and excellent build quality, the most important features in a vacuum. While many users consider it expensive, they also say that it is worth every penny, as it's better to buy one expensive vacuum, than several cheaper ones.

I am quite happy with this Dyson. The only minor complaint I have is that the flexible extension is not as flexible as I would like especially when using it to reach under furniture. It does an excellent job of cleaning our rugs and hardwood floors.
Dyson's SUCKtion - lousy customer support

I just got off the phone Dyson's customer service dept.--for the second time. I purchased my DC14 from Home Depot in 2008 (2 years ago). It came with a tag on it stating there was a 5 year Warranty. Recently one of the belts broke (of course the one inside that I can't get to). I called because I don't have the receipt and the first time I called them, they told me a Serial Number would suffice if I lost the receipt. The second time I called, I was told that the vacuum was made in 2006 according to the serial # and was no longer under warranty since in 2006 they only came with 2 Year Warranties (even though the tag on it said "5 Year Warranty"). Basically I was told I was S-O-L and I would have to order parts and pay to have it fixed. Dyson needs to have better support if it's going to charge such outrageous prices for its products. I will NEVER by another Dyson product.
I no longer vacuum, I Dyson!

I am an engineer and love the way all the little parts fit together and pull apart. The assembly instructions were very good and I was Dysoning in just under 10 minutes. I have one dog in a one bedroom apt and after I vacuumed with my old vacuum I came back with the Dyson and had to empty the collection area twice (very easily done btw). The unit was also several dB quieter then my previous vacuum. You can actually carry on a conversation with another person why running the Dyson. The unit is constructed of a lot of plastic but everything seems sturdy enough to make it for at least 5 years or longer. The one thing that I didn't like about the plastic body is that it does develop quite a bit of static electricity (all those dust particles whizzing by) so you need to take off the attachment (easily done as well) and vacuum the head of the vacuum after you are done. Also the transition from carpeted floors and hard surfaces was very easy. Great product and I would buy again... well in 5 years if I had to.
Wonderful Product

This vacuum cleaner is simply awesome. It cleans much better than any vacuum I have ever used. The amount of dirt it picks out of the carpet and that goes into the canister is simply astounding. The canister is easy to empty and will empty without the dust cloud that other bagless vacuums create when emptied. The vacuum is very easy to maneuver on both my high pile carpet and the low pile carpet and cleans great on both. I also like the fact that the vacuum is fairly wide-it seems to save time over smaller vacuums. The cord is extremely long which is helpful for going around furniture and into other rooms. Some negatives are that the long pipe is hard to put back into the hose for storage when done. Also, the crevice tool that comes with the vacuum isn't straight which can be a nuisance. Overall, the incredible cleaning action of the Dyson DC-14 makes up for the few shortcomings. Now that I own a Dyson, I will never own another brand of vacuum. It really is true that you get what you pay for, and when it's the cleanliness of my house at stake, I think it's worth it to spend the extra money to get the best product.
Worth the money

This is a very powerful vacuum cleaner. I own Dyson DC14 for 3 weeks now, and I am very satisfied with it. So it is more useful to mention potential issues. First, it is a bit heavy but very easy to move around thanks to its nice design and wheels. So, as long as you don't try to lift it up to carry around that is not a problem. Second, using the small heads (dusting brush, nozzle etc.) requires a little more work for this vacuum compared to canister vacuums. Third, it would be great if it had a auto-rewind power cord. In Dyson DC14 you need to wind the power cord on holding bar and it usually comes off as you pull and push the machine around. This may be a standard issue for many upright vacuums though. Overall the item is fairly priced at 280 bucks and it works well.
