The Bissell 37601 Lift-Off Revolution Turbo Upright Bagless Vacuum is a part of the Lift Off Revolution series. The models in this series are very user friendly and effective. You can use the Bissell 37601 effectively for carpets, floors, corners, stairs and other awkward or diffficult to reach places.
Features and Performance
The vacuum cleaner is powered by a 12 amp motor that provides powerful suction power. As with most vacuums nowadays, this is a bagless design. The basic problem with bags is that you might not know when you need to replace them. A bagless design also means you don't need to buy or keep in stock bags anymore for your vacuum.
The dirt collects in a canister that is easily detachable. Just detach the canister and carry it so that you can use the vacuum in smaller and difficult to reach places such as you car or closet. Its powerful suction, 15 inch wide cleaning head and rotating brush will pick up vast amounts of hidden dirt and pet hair from your carpets.
Turn off the rotating brush and set the height adjustment when you need to clean bare floors. The Lift-Off 37601 has 7 different height settings that enable you to adjust the vacuum for different types of surfaces.
A HEPA filter in a vacuum is absolutely necessary. The HEPA media filter in this model captures up to 99.9% of dust mites, pollens, and ragweed, assuring you of a allergy free home. The filters can be cleaned very easily.
The machine is available with a number of useful attachments such as the Telescopic cleaning wand and the stretch hose. The stretch hose helps you to clean corners of walls, ceiling fans, curtains and crevices and other difficult to reach places.
Summary
Generally speaking the feedback about this model has been good. Users have liked the suction power and the vacuums ability to draw out dirt from deep within their carpets. They have liked the fact that the vacuum works well on hard surfaces as well.
There are a few issues such as the filters getting clogged very easily and the need to open up the vacuum and remove stuck pet hair. Even in such cases, troubleshooting has been very easy and the vacuum is ready for use in a short period of time.
All in all a powerful vacuum that does a good job with a few irritants that are not very bothersome.

Great while it worked

I bought this vacuum about 18 months ago. It works great while it works. However, this is my second Bissell that has quit working after approximately 1 to 2 years. I am very careful about properly cleaning after each use - followed all of the directions. This Bissell Lift-Off Revolution Turbo Upright Bagless Vacuum suctioned great. I couldn't believe the dog hair, dust, dirt that I would pull up! I vacuum about twice a week and I would have to change the canister about 3 times for optimum use per vacuuming. When I completed my vacuuming, I ALWAYS cleaned both the canister filter and the filter below the canister. I also regularly changed the hepa filter. And then one day....it smelled hot and broke. I waited a few days and tried again, thinking maybe it had overheated but it was still broken. Once I got the hang of it, emptying the canister wasn't too messy. However, remember to clean the two cleanable filters after EVERY vacuuming session and they will be extremely dusty and dirty! Total of 3 filters (two cleanable and then a HEPA). HEPA filter must be bought periodically (every few months). I will not buy another Bissell because I need the vacuum to last longer than a year or two but, if you don't mind buying a new one every couple of years, this works great.
PROS: Great suction
Easy to use attachments
Cleans up pet hair great
No bags to buy
Attachable brush works great
CONS: Only lasted less than 2 years
Heavy to manuever and very difficult to carry up and down stairs
My Bissell Revolution Only lasted 3 years

After having a Kenmore canister for 22 years, it was very disappointing to buy a Bissell Revolution 3 years ago. The small turbo brush only worked for a few months. After about a year the latch that holds the vacuum upright broke. This weekend I went to get it out of the closet and it just went click-click. No power. I don't have enough confidence in the durability of Bissell products to buy another Bissell vacuum. I'll try a Hoover or another brand with a good review. In reading reviews of other products, I find it pretty unacceptable to hear so many complaints of many different brands that break right away. Too bad I can't afford a high end vacuum.
Works great at first--not after 10 months

I have two large dogs, five cats, and about 2,000 square feet to clean, so I needed a high-quality and flexible vacuum to get the job done. When I first received this vacuum last year, I was very impressed. The suction was good, the tools were quite useful, and the lift-off feature made vacuuming the stairs easier.
However, after just 10 months of use, my $179 vacuum (purchased new) kicked the bucket. The suction is completely gone, even though I faithfully cleaned the filters and dumped the dust bin when full. I can literally try to hand-feed dust bunnies into the hole in the bottom, and nothing happens. I've cleaned the filters thoroughly, checked for clogs, everything I can think of. It's just broken.
The Pet Paw attachment is useless. Sure, it works great at first, but if you have pets like I do, be prepared to take it apart after almost every use to remove hair and built-up dirt that prevent the tool from spinning.
Another problem: the filter on top of the dust bin tends to trap the spinning dust ball inside, so when you remove the bin to empty it, about 1/3 of the time you have to reach up around the filter and dig the dirt out, resulting in a disgusting mess.
I would give this vacuum 4 stars if its performance had lasted, but it just didn't last long enough.
works well

this product works well for it's price. the lift off feature can come in handy. bit hard to maneuver in upright mode (sideway tilt like a dyson ball or miele upright would be nice and i'd pay a bit more for that too.)
sturdy product with a design that reminds me of Nascar race cars (which I am not necessarily a fan of)
Will never buy bagless again!

Bought this vacuum about three years ago. I absolutely hate it! Emptying the canister is disgusting and having to handle those supposed filter and scrape off all the dust is even more so disgusting. Also, this vacuum sucks in that it doesn't suck at all. I have to run over the same piece of carpet over and over to get it to pick up clearly visible dust, crumbs, whatever.
Today I just bought a new Miele canister vacuum as I think three years gone by justifies me being able to finally kick this thing to the curb (which I have wanted to do from the start).
With extended suction power for spotless carpets, Bissell offers their Lift-Off Revolution bagless vacuum for household cleaning needs. The upright 12-amp vacuum offers turbo power and seven height levels to accommodate a wide variety of floor and carpet types, while eradicating both deeply embedded debris and light layers of dust. With a long-lasting HEPA filter, the vacuum also improves an environment's air quality, stripping away dust mites, ragweed, and most grass pollen. The vacuum further endears itself to users with its detachable body, leaving the upright frame behind for the more portable canister format that better suits cleaning stairs and other elevated terrains.
To ensure a clean carpet, the 15-inch wide vacuum head features a helpful headlight to illuminate soiled patches. Using Bissell's new Revolution System, the vacuum sucks dirt and debris from even the plushest carpet for heavy-duty cleaning. Debris travels through a HEPA media filter into a sealed dust cup. The dust cup detaches from the vacuum body for easy emptying. The cleaner comes equipped with a special TurboBrush to conquer pet hair and vertical stair cleaning. Rotating brush power can be obtained by flipping a switch. Additional attachments include a telescopic extension wand, dusting/upholstery combo tool, crevice tool, and an extra-reach hose. The power cord spans 30 feet in distance. For the best results, the HEPA filter should be replaced every three years and should never be washed. Bissell offers a one-year warranty for this item. The vacuum measures 15 by 13-3/4 by 44 inches and weighs 27.9 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling
