Top rated by Consumer Reports, the vacuum cleaner worked as advertised. Buyers should be aware that snapping the cleaning head into the the handle device must be done smartly or the head will not stay in place. Once done properly, no problem.

This is a very powerful and efficient sweeper for its size. It is a little more bulky and harder to store than my previous quick sweeper. The dirt storage is easy to see when it needs emptying, and is very easy to empty and clean. The shape is unusual, but great for getting around table legs. I use it daily around the cats' litter box and it zaps-up all loose litter unlike any other small vacuum I have ever owned. This vacuum was well worth its very reasonable cost.

It has good suction and was easy to put together. Those are the pros. The cons are that it is top heavy and the swiveling makes it a little crazy to control. The v-shape means you can't go right up against a wall or piece of furniture from the front. You'd have to sweep past it from the side. I don't like the hot air blowing out the front. I'm sending it back and going to stick with my old canister vac for now while I do more research.
Bissell Versus Review

Background: Dogs, a parrot, tile and hardwood flooring and zero carpet. Looked for years for an effective vacuum for bare floors. Was using my old shop vac until we tried the Bissell Versus.
Review: Just got the vacuum and put it together. One philips screw and it was assembled. Less than five minutes. Although I was skeptical, I gave it a test drive. Awkward at first due to the way the vacuum head operates, but got used to it quickly. Our dogs track all kinds of stuff into the house, and our parrot drops peanut shells and pin feathers constantly. This vacuum is awesome! At first I used the old shop vac to suck up the big stuff, but gave that up when I realized this little vacuum has plenty of power. The V-shaped head easily gets into the nooks and crannies, so I didn't have to move furniture. It's light-weight enough to pick up if needed. Sucked up the dog hair, grass clippings, parrot feathers, and peanut shells with ease. Easy to dispose of the waste with the little lever and canister on the front. Has a little washable foam filter. Easy to get to, remove and wash. Needless to say, I've retired my shop vac! We plan on buying at least another two units because our luck has been to find a great product only to have it be discontinued. Can't speak to the effectiveness on ANY type of carpet or rugs because we don't have any in our home, but for bare floors this vacuum really should be rated SIX stars. Don't know how long the motor will last, but for the price I haven't found anything as effective.
Good Suction and Does Not Damage Hard Floors

I bought this based on the review in Consumer Reports. We have 750 sq. ft. of new floors and mopping or sweeping with a broom were just not working. I could not use my Sebo upright vacuum with its beater brush (would void the warranty on the floor), so I decided to purchase something new. This one does EXACTLY what I bought it for: it sucks up all of the dog hair (amazing how much there is even after one day) and dirt (from two dogs & two cats) very quickly, and is very gentle on the floor (no scratches). I don't particularly like the V-shape, and it does lift up a bit sometimes, but other than that it performs very well. It was an excellent purchase, especially considering the price. I wish it had a straight shape (rather than V), but I have done a lot of research and it is the best vacuum of this type available right now (in my opinion). I am satisfied with it and would purchase it again.
